  Ormelie Tavern Burns Society

  I was invited to, and attended a Homecoming Burns Supper on Sunday at the Ormelie Tavern, a local pub in Portobello. The idea was a simple one, a group of 12 locals in the bar decided to organise the event as a bit of a laugh. As these things happen it grew arms and legs and I have to say the final event was a brilliant occassion and run on very professional lines.
  
  A brochure was produced that was badged up "Homecoming Burns Supper" a good indication that the message is getting out there. Full tartan regalia was worn and the itenery was as follows.

  Imortal Memory - Chairman
  
  What followed was a night of guys who have never had anything to do with Burns reading poems and singing songs of Burns accompanied by an invited muscian.

  PARTICK BURNS CLUB

  Partick Burns Club had their supper on Friday night and I'm pleased to report that it was a great success. We raised over £2,000 and this will go to the chosen charities of The Firefighters' Charity, and The Lodging House Mission.

  Poole`s Annual Burns Supper

  Had a fantastic Burns Supper on 24/01/09. Attending were myslef and Linda, my mum and Dad, my brother Gordon with Claire and Linda`s sister Susan with Clark. All played their parts well, Gordon addressed the haggis, i did the Immortal Memory, my Dad toasted the Lassies, my mum and I both did Burns recitals and Susan replied on behalf of the lassies. Our meal was deliciously prepared by Linda and plenty wine and whisky got drunk !!!!
